How do I apply for a grant?
Border AIDS Partnership (BAP) announces request for proposals (RFP) in July. You may get an Application through this web site. Narrative| Budget Form
Do you fund programs outside of El Paso County?
Yes. The Border AIDS Partnership (BAP) funds HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs in the El Paso border region, an area that includes El Paso, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and Southern New Mexico. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with an IRS 501 (c) (3) tax-exemption letter.
Is there a deadline for submitting funding requests?
Yes, your Application is due Friday, October 15, 2010. BAP publicizes this date during the month of July when we first announce RFPs.
Can a grant submission be lengthier if necessary?
The answer is no, generally speaking. For instance, the Application has specific areas for you to enter information. The areas usually have a text limit of 250 or less words. BAP does not encourage applicants to submit lengthier than necessary applications. See the Narrative for more information
What is the grant request limit?
BAP makes grants that usually average $15,000. Although there is no grant request limit, BAP encourages applicants to be mindful of the average grant size.
Do you grant monies to individuals?
No. BAP makes grants to nonprofit organizations with an IRS 501 (c) (3) tax-exemption letter.
If our organization is awarded a grant, when will we receive our funds?
BAP announces grant awards in December, and presents grant checks in March or April.
May I arrange a presentation with BAP board members or invite representatives for a visit?
Although we value visiting organizations to learn more about your HIV/AIDS education and prevention program, BAP generally initiates the process. In other words, we do not encourage you to contact board members to arrange a presentation or visit. However, we do ask you to be available if we request a visit.
